Fuel Cell Bike on the Road Excellent News for the Malaysian Team visiting South Africa. They have found the hydrogen and spare batteries the needed, and are on the road.
Fuel Cell Bike finds Hydrogen When the Malaysian team arrived in South Africa, they were quite expectant on hot days, long roads, lots of sun and a great South African experience. What they were not expecting was a serious lack of hydrogen.
SASC Winners Tokai, lead 2009 Challenge The winners of the South African Solar Challenge the team of Tokai University, are currently leading the Challenge Class of the Global Green Challenge 2009 in Australia.

South Africa 2010 - Solar Challenge

Welcome to Solar Challenge

The South African Solar Challenge 2010 is an epic, two-week race in solar-powered cars through the length and breadth of South Africa. Teams will have to build their own cars, design their own engineering systems and race those same machines through the most demanding terrain that solar cars have ever seen.  The race is from the 23th September 2010 to the 2th October 2010, all teams need to be in South Africa before the 20th September 2010.

The teams will includes a mixture of local and international teams from across the world, who will compete in various classes, for prizes, prestige and experience.

Each team must put their vehicle through grueling qualifying and technical inspections. Teams that fail to meet the requirements will not participate. During the race, each team is escorted by their support team and the vehicle
