About Team

SOL INVICTUS Dynamics is a unique, multi-university collaborative engineering team comprising students from four of South Africa’s leading institutions: Belgium Campus iTversity, CTU Training Solutions, IMM Graduate School, and Open Window. This multidisciplinary alliance brings together an exceptionally diverse range of skills, uniting students from software engineering, intelligent computing, mechanical and electrical engineering, strategic marketing, business management, visual communication, and industrial product design. The team operates under the guidance and mentorship of academic staff and industry experts from each partner institution. This framework fosters deep collaboration between experienced professionals and emerging innovators, allowing students to bridge the gap between classroom theory and real-world sustainable engineering excellence as they prepare for the Sasol Solar Challenge 2026.

About Vehicle

Sol-1 is a solar-electric vehicle platform driven by a multi-institutional team from Belgium Campus ITversity, CTU, IMM and Open Window. Entering its debut competitive event, this single-seat vehicle features a lightweight composite structure, high-efficiency solar panels, an electric drive-train, advanced energy-management systems, and low aerodynamic drag. Designed and built by our dedicated team of staff and students, Sol-1 serves as a real-world proving ground for innovative technologies in renewable energy, vehicle efficiency, battery management, telemetry, and intelligent control systems.

Why We Race

SOL INVICTUS Dynamics is more than a solar car; it is a moving testament to what happens when diverse minds unite for a sustainable tomorrow. Brought to life through a powerful multi-university collaboration. By combining the intelligent software and engineering of Belgium Campus iTversity, and CTU, the strategic community advocacy of IMM Graduate School, and the immersive visual storytelling of Open Window, we are proving that student innovation can solve real-world challenges.
