The Sasol Solar Challenge (SSC) is pleased to announce that Potensa, the multinational brand specialising in energy solutions, has joined the 2022 event as a sponsor.

Potensa’s outstanding products and services offered by a team of expert engineers will make a significant contribution to the solar car teams’ performance during the eight-day long Sasol Solar Challenge event.

“We are thrilled to welcome Potensa to the Sasol Solar Challenge. Their commitment to minimising environmental impact speaks greatly to the event’s focus, which is to promote alternative and sustainable energy to save the planet,” said Robert Walker, Owner and Director of the Sasol Solar Challenge. “This partnership will contribute immensely to the ongoing battery technology research, which is conducted by some of the solar car teams.”

The partnership is the start of Potensa’s involvement in international solar challenges, and the company already has plans to roll out a telemetry system for the event through which the teams and audience to the event can access crucial battery and the event information.

Potensa, who has been at the cutting-edge of battery technology for almost 20 years, creates specialised products and services to a broad range of customers across Africa, the Middle East and Europe. Their tailored energy efficiency solutions can be utilised in any type of facility or application and their expertise extends to all major chemical systems.

“Our Potensa team is excited to engage the participating teams on sustainable, durable, serviceable, long life power offerings. Energy solutions that will lessen the replacement frequency of battery packs and therefore minimise the harmful environmental impact,” said Darren McDonald, Potensa’s National Sales Manager.

“The Potensa team will share our knowledge on green energy solutions, which replaces old and previously harmful power alternatives. We believe that as leaders in customised energy solutions, we can play a much bigger role in this event than merely financially supporting this great initiative”.
